The Rule of the Ray Ban

Everyone knows and can quickly identify a pair of Ray Ban's. Not just because of the name in white on the side but they are one of the most iconic sunglasses, ever. Also, aviators but that's a different post.

Although Ray Bans have several knock offs, the originals are unmistakable. I'm pretty sure if you looked hard enough you would see hundreds of celebrities wearing Ray Bans at least once. And here are some pictures to prove it. But these are only a few. To see more celebs in these fabulous sunglasses go here

Agyness Deyn

Orlando Bloom

Johnny Depp

Erin Wasson
The one and only: Audrey Hepburn
(The incredibly attractive) Ed Westwick

Good Morning Sunshine, The Earth Says Hello!

To be quite honest, I don't know anyone who doesn't love the sun. The fresh morning sun peaking over the horizon (or in my case; the mountains) in the wee hours of the morning. That's the good stuff, because that sun is golden and so new and pure.

It literally makes you glow, giving you a soft haze of golden.

I've notices that unless your up close to your subject, sunlight hides your features. It creates this mysterious shadow, that to me is just impeccable. (Picture 5-6)

Perfect mixture of sunlight and fashion. (Love the hat)

The Beauty In Ugly (not saying these pictures are ugly but I thought it was a good title)

We are so caught up these days in being pretty and clean. Put together and all done up. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that being pretty is a bad thing, I like getting all dolled up. But these pictures make messy, fun!

I love these pictures. They are bold, daring and somewhat indescribable.
(If you cant tell, I really like these photos. For some reason I am drawn to these.)

My Inspiration

You ask any blogger/designer/stylist what their inspiration is and or course they'll all say something different. Whether it is they want to share their style with the world or they just love clothes.

Inspiration is personal and unique (which are I guess the same thing but you get the idea). And not everyone has an inspiration or a motive for doing what  they do, but enough will other people...

My Inspiration:
I had always had in interest in fashion and design. I have a wall in my obnoxious yellow walled room, that is covered with magazine clipping. And before you jump to the conclusion that its boys and cheesy pop artists, its not. I would find designer adds in Vogue, InStyle, Marie Clare, etc and hang them up and study the for hours.

Soon after I started sketching. My passion for design and fashion grew. I loved designing my own clothes, another factor being; I hated going shopping and seeing horrible clothes everywhere. It got me frustrated. So there's inspiration #1; Why I started designing and blogging.

Inspiration #2;
Last summer I traveled to Paris. I have family there so we decided to visit and since that trip, I have fallen in love. With clothes and fashion and different cultures/places styles.

It was on particular day, my cousin took me out shopping for the whole day, from 9am to 5 pm, and coming from a town thats so small the best mall is an hour drive away, this was a big deal.

The difference was outstanding. Between here and Paris. They stuck to the season, only summer clothes and color pallets were in store. It was eye opening to see how serious they took fashion and design.

If your interested, here are some pictures from my trip:

The Crazy World of the Grammys: 2011

Well folks, the stars have outdone themselves. I applaud the risks that were taken tonight.
Some scored while others...well not so much. So, lets skip the chit chat and get to the pictures.
Shall we?

B.O.B (Bobby Ray) lookin' quite fly. Even more when he put on his monocle.
It may be a little over the top but it works. For me at least.
Kelly Osbourne in a stunning lilac dress. If only the flowers came down a little more on the top half, it kinda looks sloppy but I still like it.
Such class is portrayed by the one and only Bruno Mars.

And now, ladies and gentleman, the risks that flopped.

Nicki Minaj trying to be too much like Lady Gaga. Cheetah outfit and "Bride of Frankenstein" hair. The combination isn't the best
An angel on the red carpet, literally. I know Katy Perry has an out there personality and style, but I don't know about this one...
Rihanna takes a risk, thats for sure. A little too risky for me.
To medieval for 2011, Jennifer Hudson.
There you have it. Along with many other outfits that you can see here. We'll see how the celebrities do on Oscar night, February 27.

Your Classes on the Right Sunglasses

I admit. I have had my fair share of unflattering sunglasses. And you really have to know your face shape in order to find the right pair of sunglasses. But I'll leave the face shape discovery up to you and I'll tell you how to pick out sunglasses.

  • Square Shape:
    •  Generally looks likeAngular face with a strong jaw line, broad forehead and square chin. Proportional length and width.
    • Glasses to Look for- Oval and/or Round frames. Butterfly shaped glasses.
    • Example- Demi Moore has a square face and know that round glasses work for her.

  • Oval Shape:
    • Generally looks likeMostly balanced proportions. Chin is slightly narrower than forehead and cheekbones are high.
    • Glasses to Look for- You lucky people who have oval faces, most frames work for you face shape. Square, rectangular and geometric shapes which add angles to soft curves.
    • Examples- Beyonce, whit her oval face, proves she can rock ANY sunglasses.

  • Round Shape:
    • Generally looks likeFull cheeks, rounded chin with few angles. Width and length are in same proportions.
    • Glasses to Look for- Geometric shapes that sharpen facial features.  Rectangular and horizontal styles make your face appear longer and thinner.
    • Examples- Cameron Diaz made the wise decision to wear very square glasses that fit her face perfectly.

  • Heart Shape:
    • Generally looks like-  Broad forehead and wide cheek bones that narrow to a small chin.
    • Glasses to Look for-Bottom heavy frames that ad width to the lower area of the face. Narrow, round frames that soften the forehead.
    • Examples- Jennifer Aniston's narrow, square, bottom heavy sunglasses went great with her heart shaped face.

Black and Gold

Everyone has a favorite color combination whether it be pink and green, yellow and purple, you get the idea. But my personal favorite, the elegant combination of Gold an black. Something about this stunning combination screams "sophisticated".
Its a common yet unrecognized combination. Channel's, December 7, Fashion Show in Paris showcased the Black and Gold, with the exception of a few white and gold pieces. To see this line go here.
There isn't much to say but to look at these stunning photos.

Lazy Sunday

You've been to work/ school all week. Saturday with friends, parties, your "fun" day. But know its sunday, which we all know sucks but what are you going to do? Well, for one thing, not get all gussied up to go run a few errands, or at least I don't want to. But you cant go out looking like you rolled out of bed (unless you of course you like that style, then more power to you) so what do you do. Thats an easy question. Opt for jeans instead of skirts or dresses. A comfy shirt and your favorite sneakers and flats and roll out!

For some reason people like the style of wore-out, raggedy sneakers. Maybe it's because people are into "reduce, reuse and recycle" and I cant say I hate it. It does look good with some outfits,
Easy laid back jeans and t-shirt with the easiest, elegant braid. Perfect for your "Lazy Sunday"
Slouchy tops are a must for any wardrobe.
Such a cute, simple outfit for grocery shopping. (An great choice for ice cream!)
Again a slouchy top and an easy, elegant hairstyle, for your quick coffee stop.
If you don't feel like struttin' around without makeup, grab a cute pair of oversized sunglasses and wear them everywhere. Even inside, be a celeb for a few hours, Play up the facade.
Flats, flats, flats. Who needs heels? Its Sunday just relax.
Just because its the downright greatest drink for Sunday. An Iced Tea Lemonade, sweetened flavored with Passion, from Starbucks!
